About the Student Impact Fund
The Student Impact Fund is a national grant program created by Alumo to support student-led initiatives on Alumo-partnered campuses across Canada.
The annual $250,000 fund is dedicated entirely to bringing your meaningful campus ideas to life.
Who can apply?
Any student at a participating partner school may apply with campus approval.
Project Eligibility
Have a cool idea for an initiative that will enhance campus life? Great! Here are some things to keep in mind before you apply for the Fund:
- Led by students and for the benefit of students and/or campus community
- Non-partisan and not for commercial use
- Inclusive and aligned with values of equity, sustainability, and well-being
- Projects run by the student union itself (operations, campaigns, etc.)
- Commercial or for-profit ventures
- Projects without clear benefit to students on campus (e.g., projects for personal gain or travel)
- Projects that promote hate, discrimination, or conflict with association and/or institution policies
What isn't covered?
- Alcohol or drugs
- Food costs exceeding 30% of the funding (food can be covered up to 30%)
- Compensation or honoraria for project organizers
- Prize giveaways
- Charitable donations: Funds may be raised through the initiative and donated; however, you cannot use money directly from the Student Impact Fund as part of the donation.
Funding amount
Every project is different, so the amount of funding needed will vary.
We encourage you to ask for the amount you need, but the selection committee may award a different amount.
- New projects: Up to $5,000
- Recurring projects (if applicable): Up to $3,000*
*If your recurring project includes something significantly new or different, you may be eligible for up to $5,000.
If your project is selected, you'll receive a portion of the funding upfront to help you get started. The remaining funds will be provided once your project is complete and you've submitted the project completion report.
Our goal is to provide you with the resources and support you need to carry out the projects that are most important to your community.
